Executive Director

Dr. Hellen, is an FGM survivor, the vision carrier and serves the organization as the Executive Director. She is a highly qualified development and child protection expert championing the rights of girls, women and marginalized children and youth across Laikipia County and beyond. Through OMDCF, she leads multiple impactful programs—from rescue to justice, health, and education—helping thousands of vulnerable children and families regain hope and opportunity.

As the Executive Director, she is answerable to the Donors and the Board of Directors as the principal coordinator of the day to day affairs and activities of the foundation whether legal or social and ensures due compliance by the foundation with the provisions of the law in the daily running of its affair, carry out all correspondences and publicity on behalf of the foundation and ensure the implementation of the BOD`s resolutions and the policies of the foundation. She is the overall supervisor of staff and volunteers, and chairs the technical team which helps her in resource mobilization and proper utilization in the best interest of the target beneficiaries.

Dr. Hellen also is an appointed County field Officer of the Inuka Women Economic Empowerment program under the Kenyatta Trust. She Holds a Doctorate in Humanities from Dominion Mission University Ghana, Master’s and Bachelor’s in Development Studies from the Management University of Africa, General Counselling from the University of Nairobi, Diplomas in social work from the Kenya School of Government and many certificates on Child rights and protection, SRHR, Gender. She is also a researcher and trainer in the same fields. Dr. Hellen holds various National and International award for her work. They include Leadership and Innovation award from the Management University of Africa, Child Rights Advocate from AfriGlo, DIAR awards Gender champion and Gender Equality Champion (USAWA Award) by the National Gender and Equality Commission of Kenya.

Safe House Project Manager

Mary, aka Wendy has been with us since the inception of the Safe House. she is a passionate Safe House Project Manager, a program and flagship project under One More Day for Children (OMDC) in Laikipia North, Laikipia County, Kenya. As the shelter manager, based in Laikipia North where the project is, she is in charge of all operations within the safe house and within the sub county including staff working at the shelter. As such, working closely with the Executive Director, she receives the rescued girls escaping from Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), child marriage, and other forms of gender-based violence, supervises IGA activities and mobilizes resources that ensures the shelter provides protection, good accommodation, education, and psychosocial.

As a 2025 Mandela Washington Fellow, she brings over ten years of experience in project management and grassroots advocacy, with a strong commitment to creating safe, empowering spaces where every girl can thrive. She is a holder of Bachelors of business Management (Project Management options) from the Methodist University, Certificate in hospitality industry from Ujima foundation and various certificates on child protection. She is also a trainer in Mental Health, and Child Protection, and holds a recognition award from the Anti-FGM Board Kenya

Senior Administrative Assistant

James works as Senior Administrative Assistant, based at the Hqs offices with 15 yrs experience. As a trained management and Leadership professional from Management University of Africa.

He provides high-level administrative and clerical support to Executives or Departments, managing calendars, coordinating meetings, and handling confidential documents. He ensures efficient workflow by overseeing administrative operations and assisting with projects management.He also follow up the sponsored children living in families and maintains the sponsors data.

At the ED`s Office, he is tasked with responsibility of overseeing general office operations, maintaining records and databases, ordering supplies, and managing communication, managing and organizing files and records, handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion. He also works closely with the Accounting Officer in expense reporting, budget management, and other financial tasks.James is a Team player, out-of-box thinker and ability to take initiatives. He is passionate in community support work and Advocacy activities on Youth, girls, Women and Children`s rights.

Peter Leiyagu

Social Worker

Peter is a trained social worker at One More Day Girls` Safe House. Peter has been with us for the last three years. His main role at the Safe House is to assist the manager provide social services and assistance to improve the social and psychological functioning of the survivors and their families and to maximize the family well- being and the academic functioning.

He does this through case management, crisis intervention, counselling, mentoring and connecting survivors of FGM, Child Marriages, Child pregnancies and others to vital resources that promote stability and long-term well-being. Peter has big passion on indigenous women and girls` rights and empowerment and he is Known for his empathy, dedication, and ability to build trust. He is a voice of men on girl child empowerment within Maa community. Peter holds a Bachelor Degree in Social Work and Community Development plus various certificates on child rights and protection.

CPA Liech Dominic

CPA Liech Dominic

Accountant & Finance

Dominic is a seasoned Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with over 10 years of experience in financial leadership within non-profit and international development sectors i.e. in humanitarian settings, specializing in financial advisory and management, strategic budgeting, grants management, donor compliance, internal controls, and risk management. He is a full member of Certified Public accountants of Kenya (ICPAK). He holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting Option) and Master in Business Administration (Accounting Option).

He oversees the organization budget formulation, implementation and ensures project related records are filed and kept safe. He also ensures the internal control systems are in place to promote accountability, safeguarding of assets and prevention of errors and fraud. He works closely with the appointed external auditors to ensure full compliance and accountability and ensure all Donors and well wishers are well informed through annual audit report.

ICT Expert & Communication Officer

Dorothy is an ICT and communications professiona holding a Master's Degree in data science and a bachelors degree in computer science and pure mathematics. She uses digital tools to amplify the Foundation’s mission and is deeply committed to women’s and children’s issues.
